The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is organising a one-day experts’ roundtable on the topic of measuring gender equality in the domain of health.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss and collect expert views on the further development of the Gender Equality Index core domain on health. We plan to discuss a review of the overall concept of the domain, and a revision of the current areas (health status and access to health structures), as well as the measurement of health behaviours (currently lacking indicators). The participants are invited to contribute to the meeting by identifying relevant themes, indicators and data that supports the measurement of gender equality in the area of health.
The focus of the further development of the core domain of health is on 1) developing a conceptual framework on health behaviour, and 2) discussing aspects of intersecting inequalities in health.
